GRIEF SUPPORT
“True comfort in grief is in acknowledging the pain, not in trying to make it go away. Companionship, not correction, is the way forward.”
Megan Devine
I am terribly sorry about the circumstances that have brought you here…
… and I am truly honored that you found your way to The Solace Space.
I am a Certified Grief Educator and my grief support services are designed to provide a safe space for you to show up exactly as you are and to share, to be seen, to witness, and to connect with others who truly understand what you’re going through.
Grief Support with Kate
We live in a culture that is wildly uncomfortable with witnessing “negative” emotions. We have toxic positivity up the wazoo, and meaningless platitudes (like “everything happens for a reason” or “they wouldn’t want you to be sad”) that only serve to make people in pain feel shut down and more isolated.
My approach when it comes to grief support is providing a space for you to feel seen and heard. It is so simple, yet so powerful. I believe that being witnessed in grief, without anyone trying to “fix it” or put a stop to it, is deeply healing. Being present with the pain is actually the magic that allows us, slowly, to tend to our pain and find the way forward.
I offer grief support groups, as well as one-on-one private support.
***Please remember that I am a Certified Grief Educator, not a licensed psychologist/ therapist or coach! As a Certified Grief Educator, I am here to provide peer-to-peer support as you work through your grief and access your inner wisdom.

“Each person’s grief is as unique as their fingerprint. But what everyone has in common is that no matter how they grieve, they share a need for their grief to be witnessed. That doesn’t mean needing someone to try to lessen it or reframe it for them. The need is for someone to be fully present to the magnitude of their loss without trying to point out the silver lining.”
-David Kessler
Testimonials
what is grief?
Grief is our response to loss, and while we often associate it with the passing of a loved one, it extends far beyond that.
Grief can arise from any experience that disrupts our sense of normalcy or identity, including the loss of meaningful connections in our lives.
You may grieve the loss of:
🤍a beloved friend, family member, partner, or pet
🤍a marriage, friendship, or deep bond
🤍a home, neighborhood, or community
🤍a job or career path
